PRONUTS :
Flotteurs profileurs pour les sels nutritifs

PRONUTS was a project funded by the Group Mission Mercator Coriolis (GMMC) and by the PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) region. Its main objective was the development of a new type of profiling floats capable of measuring the nitrate concentration in the water column.

Two prototypes were equipped with the two commercially available nitrate UV-based sensor (Satlantic Inc.): the ISUS and the SUNA.

The two PRONUTS floats have been deployed in the Ligurian Sea (Mediterranean Sea) in the framework of the Mediterranean Ocean Observing System on Environment (MOOSE) activity.

The PRONUTS team was composed of scientists from several French laboratories (OAO/LOV, IFREMER-TSI, Station Roscoff, LMGEM).
